During the Russian occupation the East German military manufactured drysuits based on the ‘Cumberband’ dry suits from Pirelli and Siebe Gorman. This suit is an early version: the main suit is made of a different kind of rubber then the later ones which are brighter grey, green or bleu, it feels heavier and is more pliable also does this suit have an ink stamp of the Nationale Volks-Armee (NVA) which indicates that this was a suit made for the military. Due to bad storage conditions the black rubber entry tunnels at the trousers and jacket have dry cracks in them. These dry places are only there where the rubber has been in contact with light and oxygen, most of it is still in good condition. An extra jacket-entry tunnel will be provided with this suit to salvage material to repair the entry tunnels. It is the same material as a bicycle tube and it can be easily repaired. These early suits are (nearly) impossible to find. Price for the set as pictured: € 150 plus shipping
